Prison Industry Skills Centre

In May 2011 the Secretary, Department of Justice, approved a further extension of the ISC project from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012, This included the continued engagement of the GTAV-ELO plus additional resources of five part-time Field Officers assigned to the six ISC prison sites.

The unique partnership between GTAV and Corrections Victoria has continued to demonstrate positive employment and training outcomes for the selected participants.  Since July 2011, there has been 149 participants enrolled in the program. The outcomes for participants who graduated and were released during this contract period, 65% have gained meaningful employment and a further 5% have taken up further training.

These outcomes are attributed to the commitment of the Field Officers, their parent companies CVGT & Work Solutions Gippsland and the ongoing support of the GTO’s  and their associated employment / training networks throughout Victoria.

GTAV and the ISC team wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year and we look forward to your continued support in 2012.
