As many of you would be aware the Association has been working with Skills Victoria on an Out of Trade program to assist apprentices to find another employer.

We have identified a specific cohort of 26 apprentices that have completed their trade training but still require an employer to sign them off as competent.

GTAV has some funding available for GTO’s to evaluate and complete this group of apprentices.

GTAV will pay $500 (incl. gst) for a GTO to undertake an evaluation of their training/skills and to provide a written report on their competency level.

If the GTO employs the apprentice to facilitate the completion of their apprenticeship after this initial evaluation, there are the existing government incentive payments available.
The breakdown of these 26 apprentices are:

• 7 Automotive
• 3 Tourism & Hospitality
• 1 Engineering
• 1 Cabinet Maker
• 1 Food (Retail Bake)
• 5 Carpentry
• 2 Paint & Dec
• 1 Hair
• 1 Horticulture
• 1 Meat Retail
• 3 Plumbing

These are across metropolitan and regional areas, GTO & RTO Managers have been provided with a comprehensive breakdown of regional locations and trade qualifications.
